Facelifting beauty operation

Facelifting is the beauty operation par excellence. It is the patient who will decide on the necessity and the date of it.

The operation does not only consist of the removal of surplus skin but also of the lifting of the mimic muscles of the face and the skin. Surplus fat pads will also be removed. The whole procedure will be carried out according to the method of "composite rhytidectomy" by S. T. Hamra (SMAS-lifting).

One has to differentiate between the standard lifting with a correction of the cheek and the neck, the extended lifting that includes the forehead and the eyelids, and the so called mini-lifting or smooth lifting that includes only a lifting of the niddle face.

Procedure:
Regardless of the extent of the operation, it will be carried out under general anaesthesia, while the stay at the clinic will be for 3 - 5 days. An in-patient stay is adviced so any possible complications, like secondary bleedings, can be recognized and treated as early as possible. The first (i.e. the front) threads will be removed after 5 (to 7) days, the back threads (at the hair line) after 14 days.

During your stay either several light treatments or lymphatic drainages will be carried out that will speed up the healing process.
