Wrinkle treatment by injection and filling

Larger wrinkles or also smaller uneven parts often make faces look much older and stranger than would match the true nature or the radiance of the person. The lack of identification with the own personality or also the misjudgement by other people then can often lead to psychological problems.

Description of the Restylane compound

Restylane is a clear transparent viscose solution that is obtainable in a sterile-packed "glass" syringe with a 30-gauge needle. The compound is meant exclusively for one-way use. Restylane contains hyaluronic acid which is a natural polysaccharide compound which can be found in the skin and in the conjunctive tissue below the skin as an important structural element. Hyaluronic acid is one of the few materials whose structure is identical in every organism. The restylane that is injected into the skin or directly below the skin fills the cavities and in lifting the wrinkles up makes them disappear. The injected material combines with the tissue in a natural way and causes no allergic reaction or rejections.

Use:
Restylane is used by injection into the respective skin layer for correcting deformities like skin wrinkles or for the enlargement of lips. Wrinkles can be removed best in those parts of the face where they disappear when the skin is torn with the hand. The scale and the durability of the correction depends on the character and nature of the wrinkle, on the scale of the tissue pressure and on the depth of the injection. Wrinkles that are too strong and deep often only can be treated and corrected with a lot of effort. After injecting restylane the usual reactions like reddening skin, insignificant swelling, pain, itching, and a temporary discolouration of the skin around the puncture may occur. These symptoms will disappear automatically on the skin within 24-28 hours and on the lips within 2-7 days after the injection.

It may happen that after the use of restylane a kind of filling is palpable in the treated regions which might take several weeks or even months to be cured. The patient should keep the treated areas from high or intense heat (like in a solarium) or from cold at least until the reddening and swelling of the skin that occurs after the treatment recedes. If after a treatment with restylane a laser skinning operation, a chemical skinning, or another treatment is carried out, you have to reckon with an inflammatory reaction in the region around the injection. Therefore it is recommended to carry out these treatments only some months after the restylane treatment.

Possible complications:
An oversensitivity reaction has been known only in one case out of two thousand treated cases. This reaction occurs mainly in form of an inflammation at the site of the injection or in form of a hardening of the tissue, rarely accompanied by an oedema in the surrounding tissues. Some patients have shown a reddening skin, a local (tactile) sensitivity and, in rare cases, eczemas. These reactions occurred shortly after giving the injection and/or only 2-4 weeks in a moderate form and they healed spontaneously normally after another 2-4 weeks. If it doesn't come to a spontaneous healing, a drug therapy should be applied.

Removal of face wrinkles with ARTECOLL

ARTECOLL offers a brand new way of correcting wrinkles and smaller deformities of the skin. Artecoll is completely harmless because its agent, polymemethyl-methacrylate has been used in medicine already since 1936. Polymemethyl-methacrylate (Artecoll), also known as "Plexi", is among others part of the bone cement "PALACOS", it is also manufactured from eye lenses and skull bone substitutes, pacemaker casing and other prostheses. Polymemethyl-methacrylate (ARTECOLL) never caused any inconvenient and particularly any side effects endangering the health of the patient. Its effect is long-lasting (at least 4-5 years) because ARTECOLL stimulates the receiving organism to produce own collagen due to the injected collagen which soaks up within 3-5 months, i.e. the small bales, that have completely smooth walls, will be converted by the organism into collagen-covers by the organism and these self-produced collagen-covers then fill the respective cavity below the wrinkles and lift them up. Because the way this material works depends on the reaction of the respective receiving organism which differs from patient to patient as the reactions of the conjunctive tissue is not the same with each patient, in 60% of the cases a very intense production of collagen-covers can be seen while in the other 40% another secondary treatment 2-3 months after the first operation might be necessary to achieve the desired effect. ARTECOLL is injected below the skin wrinkles.
